By definition, fresh bulk oversized flat-pack furniture returns are goods only a few weeks old. This benefits you directly, as you are getting goods that are on-trend and in-season for maximum turnover. For example, you get plenty of rattan garden furniture in the warmer summer months.
Manifest Value & What’s Inside
An average manifest retails around £65,000 in the summer, but can be as high as £85,000 in the winter, with manifests typically varying, anywhere from 600 to 800 items per truckload.
These loads are predominantly furniture; however, they also include items such as blinds, curtain poles, gym equipment, mirrors, and seasonal stock, such as a few trampolines in the summer..
Delivery & Offloading
These loads are most profitable, but they do require work. To optimise the volume of goods on your wagon, they are delivered loose-loaded in a 40ft box trailer (or via a 40ft HC container for export clients) without pallets.
We recommend having a crew of 4 people to unload, which usually takes around 2.5 to 3 hours.
Stock Grade & Maximising Your Profit
As with any customer return stock, buying flat-pack furniture returns means you will get a variety of conditions, ranging from perfect, brand-new goods to damaged returns, and a small percentage may have missing parts.
Don’t throw away the spare parts!
Our most successful clients reorder frequently, harvesting parts from one load to complete and maximise the value of the next. This smart approach ensures you get the absolute highest return on your investment. Below are examples from one of our export clients in Barbados. She has used different part items to create a red/blue children’s bed, similar with a chest of drawers and a Bed.
With a jigsaw, you can even cut the damaged pieces to make unique designs where parts are missing, like the desk created below
Pricing & Projected Returns
- Your Price: You pay just 8% of RRP.
- Average Cost: Approximately £5,200 + VAT (plus transport).
- Projected Profit: Clients may discard 5-10% of the load, sell 20% as near-perfects, and sell the rest close to RRP; this ends up more than quadrupling their money!
How Payment & Manifest Valuations Work
Each box is scanned as loaded onto your box trailer by the retail fulfilment centre. Loading is a 24-hour procedure, where care is taken during this slow loading process. The exact item counts and final manifest is given shortly after the truck is fully loaded.
Securing Your Load (Deposit Bond): We request an 8% bond paid 2 days before trailer placement, based on an estimated RRP. £6,400 + VAT for winter loads (estimated RRP £80,000) or £5,200 + VAT for summer loads (estimated RRP £65,000).
Final Reconciliation: Once the truck is fully loaded and scanned, the final itemised manifest is generated.
Instant Adjustment: If the final RRP comes in lower than estimated, we immediately refund the difference to your bank account or credit it toward your next load, if preferred. In the unlikely event that the final RRP is slightly higher, we will simply request the small remaining balance before your delivery.
